Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum) are used for their aromatic flavour over the world. They are, in fact, dried flower buds. Cloves have a very strong flavour so should always be used have a wide variety of uses in different cuisines. Used to flavour breads, curries, rice dishes, and are often used to decorate and flavour a ham joint.
